University of the Third Age Holds Annual Showcase
Newcomers welcome to discover range of activities at St Mary's Church Hall
The University of the Third Age, or U3A is holding its Annual Showcase on Tuesday 11 September at St Mary’s Church Hall on the corner of Edith Road and Hammersmith Road from 10.30 am till 12.30am.
Hammersmith & Fulham U3A has been active in Hammersmith for the past 11 years. A general meeting is held monthly for all members where matters of the day are discussed and a speaker is invited to give a talk. Members also organise various activities across the month at given venues or members homes.
The U3A is aimed mainly at people who have retired or are semi-retired, but other people who feel they have time to enjoy leisurely activities are always welcome.
The showcase day invites local residents to come and see the range of activities members enjoy, and see if they would like to join. Among the activities are Arts & Crafts, Current Affairs discussions, Pub Lunches, Creative writing, Book group, Photography, Film, and many others.
