M4 closure causes chaos in our area
There is misery for motorists across West London on Friday Morning. The M4 is closed westbound from Junction 1 to Junction 3 in Chiswick, with both lanes blocked due to fuel spillage from a broken down crane. Specialists are now on the scene cleaning up the spill.
The road has been closed westbound at Chiswick Roundabout. Traffic is slow moving on approach with tailbacks reaching onto Hammersmith flyover.
A second incident, the closure of the on-slip from Warwick Road to West Cromwell Road has now been remedied, but delays remain with northbound traffic tailing back onto Chelsea Embankment.
These two incidents are causing a build up of traffic through Hammersmith, Earls Court and Fulham and are having a knock on effect as far as Kew and Chelsea.
