Cygnet Players Seek Thoroughly Modern Men!


Auditions in Southfields to find new singing stars

Local theatre company Cygnet Players are on the hunt for men to take part in their next production, Thoroughly Modern Millie, which they will present at Fulham's London Oratory School from February 17 - 20, 2010.

Thoroughly Modern Millie is set in 1922 and with a full score of jazzy songs and bright dance numbers, tells the story of small town girl Millie Dillmount who joins New York's flapper lifestyle to marry for money.

The company say they are need of men aged 16 upwards, of all abilities to try their luck at auditions taking place on Sunday, October 25 at St Barnabus Church, Lavenham Road in Southfields.

Cygnet Players, established as an amateur musical theatre group in 1997, is run by a committee of 11 people who donate their time to ensure both the artistic success and smooth running of the company.

Cygnet Players is now a thriving musical theatre group, typically performing musical shows twice yearly, as well as an annual play. Its most recent production was Jekyll and Hyde at Putney Arts Theatre.

The company has an ever-growing membership, aged from 16–60, brought together by a common interest in theatre and entertaining. New members are always welcome.

Rehearsals for Thoroughly Modern Millie will take place twice weekly in Southfields on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus Sundays nearer show dates.
