Extra Super Sewer Event Added as First Exhibition Opens

New exhibition in Broomhouse Lane on December 15 and 16

Thames Water have added an extra Thames Tunnel drop-in exhibition in Fulham in addition to the three day event which opens today, December 1 at the Worx in Parson's Green.

Thames Tunnel say that following a request from South Fulham RATS (Residents Against Thames Sewer), they are staging an extra drop-in exhibition on December, 15 and 16, from 2pm-8pm.

This will be at the Parsons Green Sports & Social Club in Broomhouse Lane, a venue suggested by RATS, who are opposed to the proposed use of Carnwath Road Riverside (pictured right) as a major construction site for the Thames Tunnel.

This event will be in addition to the pre-planned drop-ins at The Worx, 10 Heathman’s Road, SW6 which is taking place from today till Saturday, December 1 - 3, open 2pm - 8pm on December 1 and 2, 10am-4pm on Saturday December 3.

Thames Water will also be attending the Super Sewer Summit  which has been arranged by Hammersmith & Fulham Council at Hurlingham and Chelsea Secondary School, Peterborough Road on December 7, at 7pm.

The public are also invited to comment on its revised plans for the tunnel on the consultation website.

Last month local campaigners reacted with fury to the news that Thames Water had chosen Carnwath Road on Fulham's riverside as its preferred site for the construction of an access shaft to the tunnel, switching from its original preferred site across the river at Barn Elms.

Thames Water have also produced an image of what the building on the Carnwath Road site, currently used for open storage, may look like.
