Three day exhibition and public meeting in first week of December
Fulham residents have been invited to two public events to view and discuss Thames Water's plans for the Thames Tunnel, or the super sewer as it is widely known.
Earlier this month, local campaigners reacted with fury to the news that Thames Water had chosen Carnwath Road on Fulham's riverside as its preferred site for the construction of an access shaft to the tunnel, switching from its original preferred site across the river at Barn Elms.
Hammersmith and Fulham Council, which has consistently campaigned against the entire Thames Tunnel project, is holding what it is dubbing a Super Sewer Summit at Hurlingham and Chelsea School in Peterborough Road on December 7 at 7pm.
Before that, Thames Water is holding a three day drop-in exhibition at The Worx inn Heathman's Road off Parsons Green On Thursday and Friday December 1 and 2, from 2pm till 8pm and Saturday December 3, from 10am till 4pm.
Thames Water is also inviting people to comment on its revised plans for the tunnel on the consultation website.
