Supports Warrior Programme's help for ex-service personnel
Prince Charles visited the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation on Fulham Road on Wednesday, February 10.
The prince was supporting the Warrior Programme which runs courses at the foundation and around the country to help ex-service personnel and homeless people regain their self-esteem and rebuild their dignity and confidence.
The programme, which was established in 2007 by Eva Hamilton MBE and Charlotte Cole, who were former colleagues at an organisation called Business in the Community, uses a variety of techniquesand tools which it says help people address their negative thinking, including NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), time line therapy, forgiveness process (Huna), meditation/breathing and Tai Chi.
Under the direction of instructor Guy Ho, Prince Charles tried out another technique - Chi Kung, an ancient form of Chinese movement and exercise which promotes the flow of energy through the body.
The prince also met several ex-servicemen who have benefited from the Warrior Programme and gave it his support, saying: " We owe a huge debt of gratitude to these remarkable people who have been courageous enough to join the army.
"'It is a great joy to see how many people have benefited from this programme which uses complimentary medicine and harnesses the best of both ancient and modern."
Over 275 people have completed the Warrior Programme in the last two years, and there are now plans to roll it out to thousands more.
