Tasty menu with speedy friendly service on the side
A buzzing atmosphere welcomed us for our pre cinema bite to eat - the decor is funky with bright wallpaper and banquette seating covered in worn denim.
The staff were all friendly & quick to bring menus, drinks and answer questions on portions size etc. We all opted to try the various skewers by sharing from a selection.
Between three of us we ordered a full chilli cumin lamb(£13.90), a full zingy lime chicken (£9.85)and a half of pork tenderloin with parmesan crust (£5.65)and half a malagueta chicken (£4.95). The cumin lamb with palm hearts , was the winner, a warming mix of spices, chargrilled on the outside and moist and pink in the middle. The zingy lime chicken thighs were moist and felt light, the chilli chicken was a richer BBQ sauce consistency.
For sides we ordered the stir fry greens (£2.25) cabbages with garlic was slightly disappointing as garlic appeared to be missing! Crunchy brasilian homeslaw (cashew nut warning)(£2.95) and biro-biro rice, long grain rice with spring onions, garlic and herbs (£2.95) plus fries (£3.45) and a light bottle of
Rio Sol Chenin Blanc (14.95) and a medium sized bottle of Caravalhelhos sparkling water (£2.45) - easily recognisable to those who holiday in Portugal!
With no time to be tempted by the pudding menu we left comfortably full - the final bill £63.35 for three people.
