Marches to War Memorials in Fulham and Shepherd's Bush
Remembrance Sunday, November 13, will be observed this year by Civic Parades and Services at the Fulham War Memorial and at Shepherd's Bush War Memorial.
The Mayor, Councillor Frances Stainton, will lead the Borough's homage at the Fulham War Memorial, Vicarage Garden, Church Gate and the Deputy Mayor, Councillor Belinda Donovan will attend the service at Shepherd's Bush War Memorial on Shepherd's Bush Green. A warm invitation is extended to you to attend one or other of these ceremonies.
Fulham War Memorial
Those wishing to participate in this Parade and Service are requested to proceed to Parsons Green Lane in Fulham join the Mayor’s procession which will form there at 10.25 am.
The parade will then march by way of New Kings Road to the Fulham War Memorial in Vicarage Garden. The open air Service at Fulham War Memorial will be the responsibility of the Reverend Canon Joseph Hawes, Vicar of All Saints Church, Fulham.
At the conclusion of the Service the parade will reassemble and march back to the legion where the Mayor will take the salute.
The saluting dais will be erected on the wide pavement opposite The Royal British Legion.
After the march past, at the invitation of The Royal British Legion, you are cordially invited to take refreshments at The Royal British Legion (Fulham Branch), 247 New Kings Road, SW6.
Shepherds Bush War Memorial
The march off will be at Sulgrave Road, W6 [off Shepherds Bush Road] Those wishing to participate are requested to proceed to Sulgrave Road to join the Deputy Mayor, in a procession which will form there at 10.15 am. and march to the War Memorial on Shepherds Bush Green. The open air service at the memorial will be conducted by the Reverend Canon David Tann and Rabbi Geoffrey Shisler.
At the conclusion of the Service there will be a march past in Shepherds Bush Road at which the Deputy Mayor will take the salute and the parade will be dismissed in Westwick Gardens.
