Marches to War Memorials in Fulham and Shepherd's Bush

There will be two Remembrance Day Parades in Hammersmith and Fulham on Sunday, November 8.

The Mayor, Cllr Alex Karmel, will join the march from Sulgrave Road to an open air service at the war memorial at Shepherds Bush Green.

The Deputy Mayor, Cllr Adronie Alford will attend the Fulham parade via New Kings Road to an open air service at the Fulham War Memorial, in Vicarage Garden.

The parades give war veterans, ex-servicemen, residents and community groups the opportunity to remember the sacrifices of those who gave their lives in two world wars and other conflicts around the world.

Cllr Karmel says: " The parades and services on Remembrance Sunday, the two-minute silence and the Poppy Appeal are important ways to honour the immense contribution of those who gave their lives in the two world wars and other conflicts around the world.

" They also play a vital role in highlighting the continuing needs of ex-servicemen and women, as well as their relatives, who require our help and care and also for our brave troops currently serving in Afghanistan, Iraq and other territories around the globe. I hope as many people as possible will join me and pay their respects on this important day. "

The full details of the parades and services are as follows:

Fulham parade and service
The procession will gather in Parsons Green Lane at 10.20am and march via New Kings Road to the Fulham War Memorial, in Vicarage Garden, next to All Saints' Church. The open air Service at Fulham War Memorial will be the responsibility of the Reverend Joseph Hawes, Vicar of All Saints' Church, Fulham.

Shepherds Bush parade and service
The procession will gather in Sulgrave Road at 10.15am and march to Shepherds Bush Green War Memorial. The open air service at the  memorial will be conducted by the Reverend Canon David Tann and Rabbi Geoffrey Shisler.
