If you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to learn to sail, now’s your chance to find out.

London Corinthian Sailing Club is offering the chance of a free taster session on the river in Hammersmith on Saturday 20 May, as part of the Royal Yachting Association's Push the Boat Out national campaign to get people to have a go at sailing.

Whether you're completely new to sailing or looking to get back on the water, LCSC will be one of the many sailing clubs and centres across the country taking part in the nine day event which runs between 13-21 May 2017.

Between 3pm and 5pm on 20 May you can try a free 20 minute sail in a dinghy with an experienced club member on the River Thames in front of the Clubhouse.

Taster sessions available for anyone aged 14 and over and those who would like to take part are asked to call the club's office on 020 8748 3280 to book a slot in advance and for more details: including what to wear.

The club say this is a great opportunity to see if sailing is for you. You can also stay and watch the sailing on the river in the early afternoon and have a chat over a club barbecue between 4pm-6pm (with a small charge to cover costs).

Mark Pearson LCSC Commodore says: "We are delighted to be taking part in the RYA Push the Boat Out again. It's a great opportunity to invite the local community to come have a go at sailing and find out what the club has to offer. Book a slot – who knows you might just get hooked!"
