Srping Season of Little Lyric is Underway


Shows set to delight young audiences on Saturdays and through half term

 

This season includes new shows each Saturday and through the February half term from some of the Lyric’s favourite family theatre companies, as well as from companies working with the Lyric for the very first time, all aiming to delight and amaze young audiences with magical adventures and stories.

Here's what's in store, beginning this Saturday 19 January at 11am and 1pm.

M6 Theatre Company presents Little Gift in collaboration with Andy Manley. An old soul lives alone. He likes it that way. It’s quieter and safer. One day, a surprise visitor plants a little seed of hope and turns his lonely life upside down. Saturday 19 Jan, 11am & 1pm | 45 mins | Ages 3 -7.


Theatre of Widdershins presents Snow White, Rose Red, Bear Brown. Snow White and Rose Red have lived in the forest since they were babes in the wood. When their quiet life is interrupted by a friendly bear a new chapter begins. Saturday 26 Jan, 11am & 1pm |50 mins |Ages 4 - 10

Lyngo Theatre presents Jack and The Beanstalk. Expect lots of surprises and beautiful images in this gripping story of Jack who sells his cow for five magic beans and finds himself in the land above the clouds. Saturday 2 Feb, 11am & 1pm | 50 mins | Ages 3 – 8

Half Moon Theatre & Lots of Odds present The Goose Who Flew. Goose loves the summer, playing with his family and friends, but soon it is time for him to fly south for the winter. As his journey begins, things are not as they should be. Saturday 9 Feb, 11am & 1pm | 40 mins | Ages 3 - 7

Lempen Puppet Theatre Company presents The Amazing Thing. Peter Grimm finds an amazing thing that has been locked in a box by his ancestors, a thing that takes Peter on an unusual journey through some well-known Brothers Grimm tales. Saturday 16 Feb, 11am & 1pm | 55 mins |Ages 5 - 11

February Half Term

Pied Piper Theatre Company present The Big ENORMOUS Present. It's big, it's huge, it's... ENORMOUS! A mysterious present has appeared in the school playground. Who can it possibly be for? Jack, Dot or Polly? What could be waiting inside? The Big ENORMOUS Present explores the pressures of fitting in, where we find happiness and how giving can sometimes feel as good as receiving. In February Half Term children can enjoy the Pied Piper Theatre Company’s mysterious story, The Big ENORMOUS Present. During May Half Term, join the Little Angel Theatre Company who will be presenting The Flying Bath, where bath toys spring into action and head off on exciting adventures, based on the book by Julia Donaldson.
