Redesign will enhance the customer experience says Council
Hounslow Council is planning to introduce a new online look within the next fortnight.
The Council's new website will be a "leap forward in customer experience",
they say.
The Council is set to unveil its new-look website in just under two weeks’
time.
They say that by streamlining the majority of the content and information,
it can be presented in a way that makes navigating around the site much
easier. While a lot of the content remains unchanged, it has been edited
to ensure it meets the plain English standards.
The most viewed pages on the site over the last year were reviewed and,
based on customer feedback, 80% of the content most used by residents
was identified to be moved across to the new website.
With information being moved over or changed for the new site, there may
be times during the process that some pages or links will be temporarily
unavailable. Work is in progress to ensure any missing links or pages
are available as soon as possible.
In the event of anyone finding content pages missing or site links not
working, there will be website feedback forms once the new site goes live
at the end of the month to allow users to report any problems or give
feedback.
Councillor Ed Mayne, Cabinet Member for Corporate Performance and Customer
Care, Hounslow Council, said: “The council is creating a new website
in order to improve customer experience for all our residents and help
them carry out more transactions online.
“We’re really excited about the new website as it’s
going to be a giant leap forward for us all.
“It is expected there may be minor problems as the new site gets
underway but these will be kept to a minimum and residents will be kept
fully up to date at all times. We thank our residents for their patience
during this time and apologise in advance if any inconvenience is caused
while we get our brand new website up and running.”
