Partnership for Young People Launched at Lyric

With organisations working together to boost opportunities for local youngsters

A new Partnership for Young People aiming to boost opportunities for local youngsters has been launched by Hammersmith & Fulham Council.

The partnership is made up of a wide range of residents and organisations committed to making a difference for young people in the borough. This includes H&F Council, schools, youth providers, community and voluntary groups, sports and arts organisations, funders, businesses and – most importantly – young people.

By working together, the partnership will enable organisations to achieve better outcomes than they could on their own by sharing ideas, resources, knowledge and expertise, leveraging funding for bigger and better projects and raising their profile for the benefit of more young residents.

The partnership was launched at The Lyric Theatre in Hammersmith, on Tuesday February 9 and was hosted by Rahima Begum, Member of Youth Parliament, and Darnell Christie, Deputy Member of Youth Parliament, both pictured here.

As part of the presentation, members of The Sulgrave Club talked about their collaborative project to raise awareness and collect supplies for H&F Foodbank.

Funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation, backed by local businesses and delivered with Hammersmith Academy students and several local youth partners, this project is an example of different organisations working together for the benefit of young people – something the partnership will encourage and support through its wide network of members.    

 "We are very lucky to have so many local organisations and individuals with the best interests of young residents at heart," says Cllr Sue Macmillan, H&F Cabinet Member for Education.
" This exciting new initiative will enable them to work together like never before, helping to make the borough a great place for young people." 

The H&F Partnership for Young People’s new logo was also revealed, designed by Cheyenne Buchannan-Bates, a year 10 design student at Fulham Cross Girls' School. She won a competition to design the logo and will now work with design company 101 London to bring this to life.
