Time to Recycle Your Christmas Tree

Council collects trees for composting

If it is already shedding needles all over the carpet, you are probably keen to dump your wilting tree.

And the good news is that you can recycle your Christmas tree in a variety of ways.

If you usually have rubbish bags collected from outside your home, Hammersmith and Fulham council advises you to leave your tree in your front garden or outside your property where it is clearly visible and does not cause an obstruction on the pavement, by midday on your normal collection day.

There are also designated collection points across the borough where trees can be taken from January 3 - 14.

They are:
New Kings Road (on edge of Eel Brook Common)
Fulham Palace Road Cemetery (opposite Queensmill Road)
Normand Park (Lillie Road entrance)
Loris Road Community Gardens
Ravenscourt Park (by the football pitch)
Wormwood Scrubs Car Park (off Scrubs Lane).

The council says the Christmas trees will be taken for composting in Hampshire.
