Contact Streetlink if you have concerns about a rough sleeper
Charities Homeless Link and St Mungo's Broadway are asking local residents to get in touch via a service called Streetlink if they are concerned about anyone sleeping rough in the borough. If so, they want to help.
In the past two years there have been 625 referrals to their StreetLink service in Hammersmith & Fulham, with nearly 100 of them resulting in warm, safe accommodation being found. Run by the two charities, StreetLink provides the contact between residents and local outreach teams. From January, it will be based in the Hope Gardens hostel in Lime Grove, Shepherds Bush.
Cllr Sue Fennimore, H&F Council’s Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion, said: “StreetLink is a fantastic service run by people who work all year round to help those who do not have a safe place to sleep and find themselves on the streets.
“Their work over the cold winter months is particularly important. If you are aware of anyone who is sleeping rough, please contact Streetlink so that they can ensure that those sleeping rough are aware of the advice and support that is available.
“As a council we are stepping up our own efforts to tackle homelessness, but it is critical to have allies like Streetlink making such important contributions.”
