Leader says 'We stand together with people everywhere who face down hate'
H&F Council has released a statement following the horrific terror attacks in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday.
The council says that in Hammersmith & Fulham, we feel the loss of those left injured and bereaved by the Sri Lanka terror attacks, and stand with those affected by these cowardly actions.
"I know all in Hammersmith & Fulham send our love to those suffering loss following the disgusting attacks in Sri Lanka,” said Council Leader, Cllr Stephen Cowan.
"In these challenging times, we remain vigilant in opposing terror wherever it appears and stand together with people everywhere who face down hate and instead promote understanding, compassion, and unity."
Those who died in the bomb attacks included teenager Amelie Linsey, 15, a pupil at Hammersmith's Godolphin and Latyer School, who was killed along with her brother Daniel. The school's Head Mistress, Dr Frances Ramsey, has said the whole school community has been shocked and saddened by the news.
