Top Marks for St Paul's Primary

Worlidge Street school rated "outstanding" by Ofsted

A Hammersmith primary school has been given the top Ofsted rating after impressing the inspectors with its improvement since their last visit.

St Paul’s CofE Primary School in Worlidge Street, off Hammersmith Bridge Road, was given an "outstanding" rating in its latest inspection.

Inspectors praised staff for their "unwavering determination to drive up standards" since the school was rated as "requires improvement" last time and was supported "very effectively" by the local authority, diocese and governing body to do this.

They praised all aspects of the school and said pupils make "excellent progress" across reading, writing and mathematics as well as other subjects.

They added: " Pupils behave very well in lessons and around the school. They very much enjoy learning and the school gives them excellent care and support."

Inspectors also praised the school’s strong leadership among staff, the quality of the curriculum, the rigorous and supportive governance, and the "exceptional growth of pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development".

Cllr Sue Macmillan, cabinet member for Children and Education added: "This excellent result is testament to the hard work of staff and pupils. “Everyone involved should be proud."
