At The Godolphin and Latymer School, 83 pupils took A Level exams this year, and the school says the results have been excellent.

30% of the grades were A*, significantly higher than the national average of 8.2%.

70% of all grades were either A* or A.

Four girls did particularly well gaining 4 A* passes each: Florence Bown, Marie Edison, Camille Fenton and Florence Hare.

Mrs Ruth Mercer, Headmistress at Godolphin and Latymer, says: " I am so pleased for our UVI girls. The girls and their teachers have worked very hard to gain success and we wish the girls well as they embark on the next stage of their lives.

" Godolphin and Latymer has a strong academic tradition and we aim to prepare girls for both higher education and employment, and to equip them to become responsible adults and active citizens.

" We very much look forward to welcoming our girls back to school again in the future for one of our many Old Dolphins' Association (alumnae) events."

The Godolphin and Latymer School provides Sixth Form pupils with the choice of studying either A Levels or the International Baccalaureate (IB). IB results this year were also excellent, with an average point score of over 38 points and one girl achieving the full 45 points, which is achieved by only 0.2% of candidates worldwide.
