King Street's Azou and Patisserie Sainte-Anne come out on top
King Street restaurant Azou has won its second award this autumn, being named Hammersmith's favourite restaurant in the Time Out Love London awards.
These awards are given to cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops across the city, voted as most popular in their area by local residents.
The award comes just weeks after the Michelin Guide 2016 revealed that Azou, which is run by husband and wife team Chris and Christine Benarab, and offers Moroccan, Algerian & Tunisian cuisine, has retained its prestigious Bib Gourmand.
The runner-up was the Patisserie Sainte-Anne, also in King Street and serving Parisian breads, pastries and gateaux.
Hammersmith's shortlisted restaurants meanwhile included German bakery, Bakehaus; Guadelope, which has since closed and the Lowiczanka Restaurant within the Polish Centre, all in King Street.
Indian cuisine is represented in the shortlist by Shilpa and vegetarian favourite Sagar, along with another vegetrian restaurant, The Gate.
The shortlist is rounded out by L'Amorosa, which was also awarded a Bib Gourmand in the 2016 Michelin Guide - its first since its King Street - formerly the home of Lola and Simon - ws taken over by top chef Andy Needham last year.
