Check what to expect in your local area
H&F Council says it is helping local people to recycle more this Christmas by keeping disruption to collection days to a minimum. Only four collection days will change; all other collection dates will remain the same.
The CHANGED dates are as follows:
Normal collection day
/ Revised collection day
Friday 25 December / Sunday 27 December
Saturday 26 December /
Sunday 27 December
Friday 1 January 2016 /
Sunday 3 January 2016
Saturday 2 January /
Sunday 3 January
You should only present your waste bags for collection between the hours of 9pm (the night before collection) and 6am (on the day of collection). Leaving rubbish out at any other time means you could be prosecuted for fly tipping.
You can check your normal collection day here
Free Christmas tree recycling collection
Last year you helped recycle over 60 tonnes of Christmas trees, which were composted.
If your recycling and rubbish is collected in sacks from outside your home, leave your real tree in your front garden or outside your property for recycling. It should:
- Be clearly visible from the street and not hidden behind walls or plants.
- Not cause an obstruction on the pavement
- Not have any decorations on it.
Trees must be ready for collection by midday on your normal weekday collection between Monday 4 January and Saturday 16 January 2016, but they will not be collected until the afternoon of your collection day.
There are designated collection points where you can take your real Christmas trees for recycling.
These are:
• Fulham Palace Road Cemetery (opposite Queensmill Road)
• Loris Road Community Gardens
• New Kings Road (on edge of Eel Brook Common)
• Normand Park (opposite Lillie Road entrance)
• Ravenscourt Park (by football pitch)
• Wormwood Scrubs car park (off Scrubs Lane)
Trees will be composted and put to good use rather than going to waste.
