Local officer used police computer systems for own use

Trainee Detective Constable Sadaf Bhatti, 39 a once serving Metropolitan Police Service officer based at Hammersmith and Fulham has been dismissed without notice from the organisation today, Friday, 22 August following her appearance at a Special Misconduct Hearing.

The former MPS officer Bhatti, had previously pleaded guilty to three counts of breaching the Data Protection Act at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Thursday, 5 June.

She was fined £1,000 for each charge with an additional surcharge of £100 and £85 costs which must be paid within 28 days.

The offences occurred between 24 August 2012 and 29 April 2013 where she used MPS computer systems for personal use in breach of the law and MPS regulations.

The officer had been placed on restricted duties pending the outcome of her Special Case Hearing.

The MPS says it is determined to ensure staff do not misuse information and that they comply with the Information Code of Conduct. Police systems are used for policing purposes only. We will take action against any member of staff breaching this trust to safeguard MPS information.
