New system rolling out across H&F starting with Ravenscourt Park zone
Paying for parking by phone is on its way to Hammersmith and Fulham, with the area around Ravenscourt Park first to benefit.
H&F Council says that following successful trials last year, it will roll out telephone parking across the borough, with the first sites going live by the beginning of August.
Residents and shoppers will be able to pay for their parking session on their mobile phones via text message, an app, or through an automated voice service.
The new payment system will be rolled out on a zone-by-zone basis, beginning in zones L and M (Ravenscourt Park) and will be live throughout the borough by mid-November.
Drivers are reassured that if they prefer, they will still be able to pay with cash at the machines.
" Residents and visitors told us how frustrating it is to get caught without cash, or to accidentally overstay. We have listened to them and our new service will bring those frustrations to an end," says Cllr Wesley Harcourt, H&F Council’s Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Residents’ Services.
" We need to keep up with modern requirements and this improvement will make things much more convenient for residents and visitors to the borough."
