Pop Up Films Are Back in Local Parks

Catch open air screenings of some favourite movies

Outdoor movies have become an annual tradition late summer, with parks across the borough hosting screenings over the next few weeks,

At Fulham Palace, the Nomad Cinema presents these dance related films on the lawn on the next three Thursday evenings:

Dirty Dancing - August 28
Footloose - September 4
Singin' in the Rain - September 11

Doors open at 7pm, with screenings at 8.15pm. To make an online booking go here. Tickets £12.50, £8.50 concessions, and 100% of profits go to The Sustainability Institute

Pop Up Screens is showing films at two local venues - Bishops Park in Fulham and Ravenscourt Park in Hammersmith.

There is a weekend of film in Bishop's Park, kicking off on Friday with Blade. Saturday's screening of The Notebook is sold out, but there are still tickets for the third film Back to the Future.

Doors open at 7pm with the film starting at 8.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and can be booked online.

At Ravenscourt Park, the schedule is as follows:

Heathers - September 12
Pulp Fiction - September 13
The Devil Wears Prada - September 14

Tickets are still available for all three films priced £10 each, or £6 for under-tens seeing The Devil Wears Prada or you can buy a weekend ticket for all three priced £25.

There is also food, drink and popcorn available throughout the evening. Book tickets online or turn up early and pay on the door.

To make the most of the occasion, The Nomad offers this advice:

Bring warm clothes, layers and blankets as it can get very cool towards the end of a screening. If the forecast looks a bit dodgy, pack some waterproofs just in case.

What should I bring?

• A picnic (or enjoy the food and drink available on site – varies per event, see individual listings)
• A torch or lantern can be useful
• Warm clothes and blankets.
• Raincoats, windbreakers and ponchos. Note: please be considerate if using an umbrella during a screening as it may block the view of those around you.
• Rugs, tarpaulin or mats to sit on.
• Chairs are welcome [low ones preferred!] but you may be asked to sit at the side or the back to avoid blocking other people’s view of the screen
