Your chance to visit borough's greenest spaces
This weekend, June 14 and 15, is Open Garden Squares Weekend, with gardens across London opening their gates to the public.
In our borough, the following gardens are open:
In Hammersmith:
Ravenscourt Park Glasshouses, open Saturday 10am till 5pm: Herbal activities, live music.
Make a pedal-powered smoothie on smoothie bike.
Café next door for refreshments.
Artist Nadja Gabriela Plein will be artist in residence, courtesy of HF ArtsFest.
William Morris Society, Kelmscott House, 26 Upper Mall, open Sunday 10am till 5pm: Museum open. Book and gift stall. Handout containing Morris’s description and plan of the 1880s garden. Display of Morris’s designs. Children’s quiz and trail. Refreshments available.
Sycamore House, Sycamore Gardens, open Saturday 2pm - 5pm: Tea, coffee, homemade cakes. Plant and craft stalls.
In Fulham:
Fulham Palace, open Saturday, from 11 till 4pm: Three special guided tours by volunteers for Open Garden Squares Weekend ticket holders at 11am, 1pm and 3 pm. Acclaimed caricaturist and cartoonist. Simon Ellinas will be in residence in the walled garden.
Fulham Palace Meadow Allotments, open Saturday, 11.30am till 3.30pm: Guided tours. Teas and light refreshments. Plant and produce stall.
In Shepherd's Bush:
John Betts House, on Goldhawk Road/Rylett Road, open Saturday, 2pm - 5pm, refreshments and plant sales.
