David Millar offers news and advice to teams across borough
As the nights are fast drawing-in I would like to bring your attention to advice for winter home security that we have put on our website.
This gives me the chance to let you know that our new NHW site is now up and running at H&F Neighbourhood Watch
We have updated the site to allow easy access for tablets and smartphones together with giving it a fresh new look and more content. Thanks must go to Nigel Hastings of the Council’s Communications Dept for all his work in developing and implementing the site.
I hope you will like it and find it useful; please do circulate to members of your street and indeed anyone you think might benefit. If you have any comments or spot errors or omissions just send us an email and we will respond.
I would also like to give you early notice of a seminar we will be holding on the 10th February 2015. Currently cyber-crime is a topical issue and one that the Police are just beginning to get to grips with. For most of us the computer (tablet/smartphone) is part of our daily lives. However, we are experiencing an increasing number of scams with a growing sophistication in the approach they take.
We thought it would be beneficial for Co-ordinators to have the opportunity to hear first-hand from experts on what to look for and how to protect yourself from this developing problem. Accordingly, we have arranged for a presentation with Q&As from CIFAS a leading organisation in this field. The aim will be to give practical advice and increased knowledge of the threats we now face.
A reminder will be circulated in January.
I would like to thank you very much for your continuing support as a NHW Co-ordinator for your area. It really is appreciated by all of the NHW Team and the Police.
With best wishes
David Millar
Chair, H&F NHW Borough Association
