Pavlovic guilty on eight counts after playing loud folk and pop music

A Barons Court resident who plagued his neighbours with ear-shattering folk music has been fined £400.

Gordon Pavlovic, 49, was found guilty of eight counts of noise nuisance, when he appeared at City of London Magistrates' Court on January 16.

The court was told complaints about Mr Pavlovic dated back to 2000 and that a spate of him playing loud folk and pop music in 2012 led to him being served a notice in February 2013 preventing him from disturbing his neighbours, but it was ignored.

"We take complaints of anti-social behaviour very seriously, especially when it causes prolonged harm to the well-being of others. Mr Pavlovic ignored the notice and we have taken the appropriate action and will continue to come down hard on those whose selfish behaviour affects the lives of decent residents," said Wesley Harcourt, H&F Council's Cabinet Member for Environment, Transport and Residents Services.

Council officers visited Mr Pavlovic's home in Edith Road in May and August and with the help of police removed speakers, a DVD player and a stereo.

At the hearing Mr Pavlovic, who was not represented, denied the charges, but was found guilty of all eight counts.

The case had been adjourned twice due to the defendant's ill health.

He was fined £50 for each charge and ordered to pay costs of £6,778 and a £20 victim surcharge. A forfeiture order requested by H&F to seize all noise-making equipment in the property was also granted.

Mr Pavlovic has also now been evicted from the Housing Association property.

The service is available: Monday - Wednesday 7.30am to 3am, Thursday - Friday 7.30am to 5am, Saturday - Sunday 9am to 5am.
