Police say they have contacted Katie Chopra's family about the discovery

Police say they have been in touch with the family of missing local woman Katie Chopra after a body was found in Eastbourne in Sussex.

The discovery was made on Tuesday, 7 November and, although no formal identification has been made, police appear to be linking the find to the disappearance of 41-year-old Katie.

She left her home on Everington Street near Charing Cross Hospital on the morning of Tuesday, 31 October and was seen at approximately 7am in Hammersmith Broadway Shopping Centre. The police received a reported sighting of her in the Eastbourne area on the same day.

The death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
