The Kensington Olympia Festival of Music and the Arts. or KOFMA is back this autumn with a programme of concerts, starting this weekend.
Here's what's in store:
27 October : ARS NOVA Copenhagen – Baltic Voices
4pm at Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Street, London SW1X 9BZ
The Danish vocal group Ars Nova has been touring the world for many years and has visited more than forty countries, but so far visits to London have been rare. So don’t miss he opportunity to meet one of Scandinavia’s leading vocal ensembles!
This concert will feature music by prominent contemporary composers from most of the countries facing the Baltic Sea. From Denmark you will hear Winter Hymn by Per Nørgård. From Estonia you will find Arvo Pärt and Veljo Tormis, Rytis Mazulis (Lithuania), Karen Rehnqvist (Sweden) and Einojuhani Rautavaara (Finland)

9 November 2019: Celebration and Solemnity – The Music of Henry Purcell
7.30pm Apex Room, Olympia London, Hammersmith Road, London W14 8UX
Kensington Olympia Baroque Ensemble and Singers gather under the direction of Ashley Stafford to present a programme contrasting Purcell’s secular flair and sober intensity.

1 December 2019: A Christmas Journey
5.30PM, Holy Innocents Church, Paddenswick Road, W6 0UB
Aves Cantantes choir are joined by professional singers and instrumentalists for a programme featuring christmas music from around the world and across the ages.
The concert will include a performance of Dylan Thomas’ A Child’s Christmas in Wales, narrated by Festival Director Denis Moriarty.
There will also be an opportunity for the audience to join some carol singing.
