Second only to Chelsea, according to a new Infidelity Index

Hammersmith and Fulham is one of London's top 'cheating hotspots' according to a new Infidelity Index, which claims to reveal the boroughs where people are having the most extra-marital affairs.

The Official Infidelity Index 2016, produced by IllicitEncounters.com, a dating website for married people, says that that 9,951 people Hammersmith and Fulham, or 5.57% of the population, are having affairs.

Our borough comes second only to the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, where 5.67% are cheating on their partners.

The next three hottest spots are Islington, Bromley and Brent.

The website says it has seen a 20% surge in registrations and says one of the main reasons is booming house prices.

llicitEncounters.com spokesman Christian Grant says: "London is enjoying a boom in extra-marital affairs because spiralling house prices have made divorce increasingly difficult for many couples in the capital. They are struggling along unhappily because they simply cannot afford to set up two homes.

"It is a similar situation in the capital's suburbs and commuter towns like High Wycombe and Guildford. They are doing a lot more than just twitching curtains in Acacia Avenue."

Christian adds that, across the UK around 20,000 people are using the website to have affairs with like-minded people, who want added excitement in their lives -without upsetting things at home.
