Showing no evidence of relationship enabling him to abuse position
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust has published its report on its investigation into the possible association of Jimmy Savile with its hospitals.
Two reports passed to us by the Department of Health, as well as a further report of a possible association which we received, have been thoroughly investigated by the Trust. Our report concludes that there is no evidence that Savile had a relationship of any sort with our hospitals which enabled him to abuse his position as a celebrity. No recommendations are necessary in light of the investigating team’s findings.
The safety of our patients is the Trust’s top priority and in the course of our investigation we have reviewed our policies and procedures for visits, and safeguarding vulnerable adults and children. We have assured our Trust Board and the Department of the Health that these are sufficiently robust to protect children and vulnerable adults.
