Free tickets available for 'And Then They Came For Me' at Town Hall
Hammersmith and Fulham is marking Holocaust Memorial Day with a free performance of a powerful play called And Then They Came For Me.
The story tells of the horrors of the holocaust seen through the eyes of Anne Frank’s friends and family who survived the genocide, including Anne Frank’s stepsister Eva Schloss.
The performance at Hammersmith Town Hall will be followed by a Q&A session. It will be held on Thursday 28 January between 7pm and 9pm.
Holocaust Memorial Day takes place on 27 January, the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.
Written by James Still and produced and directed by Nic Careem, it combines recorded interviews with live actors recreating scenes from survivors’ lives.
The play has been performed across the world, including at the UN and for Nelson Mandela.
" I’m proud that H&F is once again marking Holocaust Memorial Day," says Cllr Sue Fennimore, H&F Cabinet Member for Social Inclusion
" To do so by playing host to such a powerful and thought-provoking play is a real privilege, and I hope many staff and residents will join me in attending and taking time to pause and reflect."
