Find Out About Fostering

Open day at Sands End Community Centre

Could you become a foster carer?  As part of Fostering Fortnight,  Hammersmith and Fulham Council are holding open days across the borough in an effort to find much needed new carers of all ages and from all backgrounds.

In Fulham the open day is at Sands End Community Centre on Monday May 24 from 12.30 to 4.30pm.

Visitors are invited to come along and meet members of the council's fostering team, foster carers and young people who were in care, to find out more about what is involved.

If you are 23 or over, can offer a safe and caring environment and want to make a difference to a young person's life, you could be a foster carer. You will receive thorough training, the chance to gain professional qualifications and a fee of £215 a week.

Every foster carer also receives membership of the National Fostering Network which provides access to information, a carers' website, opportunities to meet other carers and to influence and create national policies.
