Calling young volunteers to clean up riverfront
Environmental charity Thames21 is calling on young volunteers aged 16 to 25 to join a giant clean-up on Hammersmith's riverfront this Saturday, February 6.
The clean-up is being run by Waterway Champions, a project run by the charity encouraging young Londoners to do their bit for our rivers and canals.
The volunteers on Saturday will be involved in removing litter from the foreshore area, thus helping to improve the area for residents and wildlife.
Thames21 advises volunteers to wear clothing appropriate to the weather and warns that they should be prepared to get dirty. Safety boots, gloves and equipment will be provided.
MEETING PLACE: outside the Blue Anchor Pub, Lower Mall, W6.
TIME: 1.30pm - 4.00pm
NEAREST TUBE: Hammersmith
Thames21 can reimburse travel expenses, so volunteers are asked to keep their tickets.
For more information, and to sign-up to take part, please contact Abby Kelly on 020 7213 0167 or email abby.kelly@thames21.org.uk.
