Local Firefighters Tackle Blaze in Park Royal

Among 70 called to warehouse fire on Saturday

Firefighters from Hammersmith, Acton and North Kensington fire stations were among 70 firefighters and officers called out to fight a warehouse blaze in Park Royal on Saturday November 7.

London Fire Brigade says it was called at 6.51pm on Saturday evening when a commercial unit in Park Royal's Minerva Road caught fire.

Ten fire engines attended the scene, and fire crews spent over three hours tackling the fire until it was finally brought under control at 10.04pm.

No one was injured in the fire.

Station Manager Pete Rickard, who was at the scene said: " Firefighters worked hard to contain the blaze and stop it spreading to adjacent units.

" The quick deployment of two aerial appliances helped ensure this fire was contained really quickly."

Once the fire was out, crews spent a number of hours damping down hotspots to ensure it did not reegnite.

The fire engines from Acton, North Kensington and Hammersmith, were joined by crews from Willesden and Wembley fire stations.
