Two days of food, music and fun for kids in King Street and Lyric Square
Hammersmith's town centre is hosting a two day food festival this weekend, Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May.
The extended international food festival, or Feastival, comes to Lyric Square on Friday from 11am to 9pm, with the huge street food market in Lyric Square running alongside an impressive line-up of live music acts.
Then on Saturday, King Street is going traffic-free once again for a pop-up market from 10am to 6pm, with more than 150 stalls offering food, drink and gifts.
On Friday, brunch, lunch and supper will all be available and can be enjoyed in the outdoor seating area. The mouth-watering array of street food on offer from across the globe includes White City resident Tieyan Eweka’s Nigerian eatery Jollof Mama and Morrocan specialist Marrakech Kitchen.
There will also be live music acts from noon on the day with the likes of Jazz Mino, one of Britain's most exciting new pop artists with more than six million streams on Spotify alone, and Ky Lewis.
On Saturday, there will be over 150 stalls along a traffic-free King Street and in Lyric Square, including crafts, jewellery, home accessories, boutique fashion and art from local independent businesses.
The fun will be boosted by live music and performances on the Lyric Square stage. Street entertainment along King Street will include children’s workshops, live music, stilt walkers, comedy and more.
Visitors will be able to sample cuisines from Greece to South Korea and beyond, and enjoy a wealth of music talent performing jazz, soul, funk, classical, rock, pop and more across four busking pods down King Street, as well as on stage in Lyric Square.
Children’s workshops, stilt walking chefs, comedy and more are all on tap at the pedestrian-friendly market, which also includes the Queen of Hearts on roller skates as well as Bridie, and her seven-foot-tall tea trolley.
Hammersmith BID will have a dedicated stall on King Street and the team will be on hand to share the latest Privilege Card offers and encourage the community to vote for their favourite lunchtime eatery in this year’s I Love Lunch competition, which is now open for nominations.
