New scheme helps unemployed launch their own businesses
Hammersmith & Fulham Council is launching a drive to help unemployed people become entrepreneurs.
The council is creating a borough-wide Enterprise Club, which has been developed to assist and motivate unemployed people who are interested in become self-employed or looking to starting a small business in the borough.
The H&F Enterprise Club will be formally unveiled Tuesday November 15 at The Macbeth Centre in Hammersmith, during Enterprise Week 2011. The council is working on a number of key areas to help clients understand how businesses work and encourage the unemployed to improve their skills to create viable new businesses.
The launch will include talks from H&F business owners about their experience of starting up a small business and provide an opportunity for attendees to have a discussion with a set of established business owners.
