Police thank public for assistance with search for Michael Meanza
Detectives who were appealing to the public for help following the discovery of a woman's body in Perryn Road in Acton this morning, July 27, say they have made an arrest.
Police were seeking the whereabouts of Michael Meanza, 47 who they wished to speak to following the death of the woman, who is thought to have been in her thirties and a member of staff at a supported living centre for vulnerable people in Perryn Road.
Meanza, previously known as Michael Condon was a resident at the hostel and suffers from schizophrenia.
Police say a murder investigation was launched after police were called at 6.40am to the property to a report that a woman in her thirties had been injured. After their arrival paramedics pronounced her dead at the scene.
This evening, they say Michael Meanza was arrested this afternoon, Monday, 27 July in the Ealing area.
They add that Meanza, who was also known to frequent Hammersmith, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody at this time.
