Closure part of Met's long term Operation Equinox

A crack house has been shut down following an nvestigation by Hammersmith and Fulham council and Met Police officers.

The closure order was granted by Fulham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 21 May for a property on Everington Street, off Lillie Road, which has been secured and will remain closed for three months.

Anyone caught entering the premises will be arrested by the police for breaching the closure order.

Chief Inspector Simon Causer said: “This operation is a great example of the council and police working together as a result of valuable community intelligence being shared with the Fulham Reach Neighbourhoods Policing Team.

"With the support of the local community we are able to get great results like this. Drugs, anti-social behaviour and all associated crimes are not welcome in this borough and we will continue to use the full weight of the law to take action.”

The order was granted under Part 4 of the new Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, which came into effect on 20 October 2014 and enables agencies to tackle place-specific anti-social and criminal behaviour in a faster and more effective way.

This closure forms part of the Met's long-term strategy to tackle and reduce violence with injury and anti-social behaviour across London under Operation Equinox.
