Italian Woman Charged Murder of Baby Daughter


Arrested after reporting disappearance from local hotel

A woman has been charged with the murder of her two month old baby daughter despite no body having yet been found

Federica Boscolo-Gnolo, aged 31, an Italian national from Chioggia was charged on Friday, 30 January, with the murder of Farah Boscolo-Gnolo. Farah was born in Chioggia on 22 November 2014.

She was arrested on Thursday, 29 January, after she reported the baby's disappearance from a hotel in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating and, although no body has been found, detectives obtained authority to charge Federica Boscolo-Gnolo with murder.

She appeared in custody at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday, 31 January and was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on 3 February.

Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of the baby's disappearance.
