CCTV Still Issued in Diplomat Assault Case

Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the assault last Friday (20th April) on George Fergusson which left him partially blinded.
Mr. Fergusson, 56, works for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and was due to take up the post of Governor of Bermuda.
He was assaulted and robbed at around 7.30pm while walking in Margravine Cemetery and Park, also known as Hammersmith Cemetery.
Mr. Fergusson, of Lambeth, made his own way to New Charing Cross Hospital, and was later transferred to the Western Eye Hospital NW1. He was discharged on 22nd April. He has lost sight in his left eye.
The suspect is described as black, believed in 20s or 30s, and around 5'10" tall. He wore a dark-hooded top and dark glasses.
The CCTV image issued today (24th April) was taken near the cemetery around the time of the robbery. Detectives want to hear from anyone who may recognise the man and can assist in his identification.
A 29 year old man was arrested on 22nd April on suspicion of robbery in connection with the inquiry. He has now been bailed to return on 7 June pending further inquiries.
