Searching for men who fled after car chase
A police helicopter was in operation over the local area in the early hours of this morning leading to numerous complaints from residents in Chiswick, Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush.
The helicopter was airborne at 3.30am assisting police who were pursuing a group of men who had fled after failing to stop for a police car on Wormhold Road. A front seat passenger left the car at Dunraven Road. After a high speed car chase through local residential streets the driver left the vehicle in the Goldhawk Road area at around 10.00 last night (5th September).
Residents reported a larger than normal police presence in the Bath Road and Goldhawk Road areas at around 11.30pm and it would appear the pursuit of the men continued for several hours.
A police spokesperson said, "One man was arrested. He was taken to a west London police station, where he remains in custody. Inquiries continue to trace outstanding occupant/s of the vehicle."
He has been charged with offences relating to dangerous driving, cannabis possession and handling stolen goods.
