All the info on incidents near you direct to your mobile phone
Hammersmith and Fulham residents can get up to date information about major incidents direct to their mobile phones, thanks to a new service which is now live in the borough.
People working and living in the borough can sign up to CommunitySafe, a new London-wide website that provides real-time information about emergencies, disruption and crime in your area, as it happens.
Register and you will receive the latest incident information direct to your mobile phone, PDA, pager and email. Once registered, users can choose which of the following groups they want to join:
- urgent - messages about major emergencies affecting the borough
- crime alerts and appeals – helping police with their investigations
- public health and advice – health tips and alerts
- safer communities and fire prevention – crime patterns and fire prevention advice
Cllr Greg Smith, cabinet member for crime and anti-social behaviour, said: “I’m delighted that Hammersmith & Fulham has been added to the CommunitySafe website. We want to make this borough one of the safest in the country. To do so it is important people can receive up-to-date safety information and I would encourage residents to log on to the site to see what it has to offer.”
Text messages cost 12p each, but all other message are free of charge.
