Older Folk Invited to Christmas Day Lunch at Town Hall

Last chance for guests to apply by Monday 4 December

There is still time to help ensure some of the older members of Hammersmith and Fulham's community have a wonderful time on Christmas Day.

Hammersmith & Fulham residents over 60, who are not having lunch with anyone on Christmas Day, are invited to Hammersmith Town Hall on 25 December to enjoy festive food and entertainment and make new friends.

If you, or someone you know, would like to come along to the lunch or you can suggest someone who might like to come, please apply here by Monday December 4. Invitations will be sent out during the week beginning 11 December. If you need any more information call 020 8753 2135.

Donations are also invited towards free transport, a hearty Christmas lunch, entertainment and a Christmas present for older residents who’d otherwise be alone at this special time of year. Please help by making a pledge large or small.

You can make a pledge via H&F Council's Spacehive, which has already raised over £18,000. You can find the H&F Hive page here.

Cllr Ben Coleman, Cabinet Member for Health and Adult Social Care says this year's part will be the biggest yet, with up to 350 guests.

"We want to ensure all our older residents can have a great Christmas," he says. "Our lunches for people who’d otherwise be alone on Christmas Day are a lot of fun. We hold them every year – the only council in the country do so.

"This year will be our largest Christmas party yet, with up to 350 guests. The council is putting in funding and we’re grateful to IndependentAge for a generous donation.

"H&F is known for its community spirit and generosity and we’re hoping people will pitch in with more donations, and even some time on the day, to help make the event an extra special one."
