Thousands Enjoy Christmas Markets in Hammersmith and Fulham

With over 100 stalls lining traffic free North End Road and King Street

Thousands of local people have visited two Christmas Markets on traffic free roads in Hammersmith and Fulham.

Despite being the coldest day of the year, North End Road was packed with visitors last Saturday, 9 December to enjoy shopping at over 150 stalls lining both sides of the street along with a feast of family entertainment.

There was also a huge choice of music, including live bands, carol singers, Fulham Brass band and Fulham Opera.

Street entertainment meanwhile included stiltwalkers, acrobatic elves, roller-skating satsumas, the snow balls, the one man band and of course a visit from Santa to his own Fulham grotto.

A week earlier on 2 December, v isitors shopped at over 100 stalls set along a pedestrianised King Street and Lyric Square and enjoyed a day of family friendly activities and entertainment, including a pop-up ice rink.

The Jack and the Beanstalk-themed Treasure Hunt was hugely popular with the kids who ended up finding the (jelly) beans on the ice rink opposite the Town Hall.

And among those visiting the market were the cast of the Lyric's Jack and the Beanstalk.

Family-friendly street entertainment included carol singing cats, naughty elves, Glitter Belles on stilts, Rudolph, Ice King and Queen, a seasonal photo booth, free Christmas wrapping and children’s workshops.
