Bum Deal for Cheeky Girls Fans

Pop duo pull out of appearances at Savers

There was disappointment for fans of the Cheeky Girls this week when the pop duo cancelled plans for appearances at branches of Savers in Hammersmith and Fulham.

A spokesperson for the girls - Transylvanian twins Monica and Gabriela Imiria, whose best known song is The Cheeky Song (Touch My Bum) - said: " The appearances were cancelled for health and safety reasons.

" They didn't realise how small the Savers shops were - other shops on their tour have been much larger. At these appearances, they like to set up a stage and perform, and there wasn't enough space to do that safely.

" They also didn't realised how narrow the pavements were outside the shops, and there was a worry that if a lot of people were waiting outside. someone might fall off the pavement."

The appearances, which were scheduled for September 30 came in the middle of a tour of set up to promote Monica and Cabriela's new range of cosmetics aimed at teenagers.

The spokesperson added that the girls are still hoping to re-arrange appearances in Hammersmith and Fulham after the final tour date at Aylesbury on October 11.
