Plan Ahead for this Weekend's Notting Hill Carnival

Your guide to events at Europe's biggest street festival

Europe's biggest street festival is back in Notting Hill this weekend.

The 2019 Notting Hill Carnival will begin at 6am on Sunday 25 August and end at 10pm on Monday 26 August.

Sunday, Children's Day is recommended for families as the smaller crowds and child-friendly floats create a fun vibe.

All day and into the night Sunday you can catch live music on stages in Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park and Powis Square and sample incredible foods from vendors while listening to all kinds of Caribbean inspired music from 38 static sound systems.

As always, the Grand Finale will be on Monday, August 26 with a culmination of dancing, street performances, steel drum music groups, and the Notting Hill Grand Finale Parade. All along the route you’ll find food, drinks, and plenty of entertainment.

You can find a full guide to Carnival, and to Panorama, the traditional start to events with music from London's best steelbands on Saturday evening at Emslie Horniman's Pleasance
here.

If you are heading for Carival by tube, you are warned that for safety reasons some stations may close temporarily to prevent overcrowding and it may be worthwhile walking part of your journey or seeking an alternative route.
