Two New Bus Services Launched in Shepherd's Bush

306 and 218 routes 'really positive development for customers in west London'

Shepherd's Bush has two new bus services connecting Askew Road and the west of W12 to Hammersmith town centre and Fulham's riverside to the south and Acton to the west.

The 306 route runs from Sainsbury's in Fulham's Sands End, through West Kensington, Hammersmith Bus Station, Askew Road and on to Acton Vale.

The new service, which was announced by Transport for London in September, replaces parts of routes 391 and 266.

TfL says that the new service runs every 12 minutes on Monday to Saturday and every 20 minutes in the evenings and on Sunday, is part of its commitment to increasing outer London’s bus network.

The 218 route, as shown in the map above, produced when the new route was proposed, runs from Hammersmith Bus Station, following the same route via Ravenscourt and Askew Roads to Uxbridge Road and then on to West and North Acton.

The 218 uses single decker buses operated by Tower Transit. It is scheduled to run every ten minutes during Monday to Saturday day time, and every 15 minutes during Sundays and all evenings.

Geoff Hobbs, Director of Public Service Planning at TfL, said the new routes are "a really positive development for customers in West London", adding: "We are committed to improving and growing the bus network in outer London and to help customers access local amenities more easily."

As the map shows, from Acton Vale the 306 runs down Askew and Ravenscourt Roads to Hammersmith Broadway then continues to West Kensington Hammersmith Bus Station, North End Road, Fulham Broadway, then Imperial and Townmead Roads close to the riverside.
