Iconic building signs first tenants in almost 10 years.
Hammersmith's iconic Ark has signed it's first tenants for almost a decade. Open TV have signed a ten year lease on over 7,000 square feet on the ninth floor of the building.
The company is moving from the city to the Ark, becoming the first to occupy the building since the huge refurbishment which took place last year, which was thought to cost around £20 million.
The original building was designed by Ralph Erskin in 1992, and the last tenants, Canadian company Seagram, moved out in 2000.Stephen Morgan, director of Landid, one of the Ark's owners, said: ‘This iconic building is now coming alive and The Ark will once again become an integral part of west London’s business infrastructure.'
‘Open TV is just the type of occupier we hoped for The Ark and we are currently in negotiations with prospective tenants for the remainder of the building.’
Ilaria del Beato, managing director of GE Capital Real Estate UK, another of the Ark's proprietors stated that 'An influx of tenants to the Ark will also generate more economic support for Hammersmith’s local retailers and businesses.’
