Hammersmith Community Gardens Association is holding family play activities in three local green spaces this half term.

The locations are Ravenscourt Glasshouses, Loris and Godolphin Gardens.

Families can simply drop in with no booking required, and activities including gardening, environmental craft and games.

HCGA says children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

All sessions are free but families are asked for a donation towards materials if possible.

These sessions will be followed by the monthly volunteer gardening day at Loris Gardens on 4 June, from 11am till 3pm.

Tasks will include planting, watering, mowing, weeding, pond clearance, wildlife surveys as well as seasonal activities such as pruning, bulb planting and leaf sweeping. Local people are invited to drop in for an hour or stay all day.

On 7 June, there is the monthly induction session for those wishing to volunteer at the Glasshouses in Ravenscourt Park.

These sessions, on the first Wednesday of each month, offer an opportunity to find out more about volunteering projects, how you can get involved, as well as an opportunity to visit the association's sites.  

They are informal, and offer the chance to meet current and new volunteers between 10am and 11.30am.
