Winning an increased 50% of the total vote
Andy Slaughter has been re-elected as Member of Parliament for Hammersmith, winning an increased share of the vote.
He gained 23,981 votes, which represented 50% of the vote.
In the previous General Election in 2010, he gained 20,810 votes, or 43.85 % of the vote.
Conservative candidate Charlie Dewhirst was second with 17,463 votes, or 36.41%.
The announcement at Hammersmith Town Hall showed that the election was a two horse race with Liberal Democrat Millicent Scott coming a distant third with 2,224 votes, or 4.64%.
The Green Party's David Akan and UKIP's Richard Wood tied with 2,105 votes each and independent candidate Stephen Brennan had 82.
The turnout in Hammersmith was 66.6%.
